Ik ben Maruga Koops-Schaaper. Ik werk als illustrator en illustratiecoach vanuit Utrecht, onder de naam Maruga.nl.

Deze verklaring geldt voor alles wat ik doe: mijn website, mijn nieuwsbrieven, mijn illustratieopdrachten, schoolbezoeken en mijn illustratiecoaching. Voor de coaching gelden daarnaast mijn algemene voorwaarden, te vinden op www.maruga.nl/algemene-voorwaarden-maruganl.

1. Wanneer verwerk ik jouw gegevens?

Ik verwerk alleen gegevens die je zelf aan me geeft, of die nodig zijn om mijn werk te kunnen doen. Dat gebeurt in deze situaties:

• je bezoekt mijn website
• je vult het contactformulier in of mailt me
• je downloadt de Groeiscan
• je schrijft je in voor mijn nieuwsbrief
• je plant een kennismakingsgesprek in
• je koopt een coachingtraject of neemt deel aan een workshop
• je geeft me een illustratieopdracht of boekt een schoolbezoek

2. Welke gegevens verwerk ik?

Bij websitebezoek: IP-adres en algemene bezoekstatistieken (zie artikel 6).

Bij contact, Groeiscan of nieuwsbrief: voor- en achternaam, e-mailadres en wat je zelf in je bericht schrijft.

Bij een kennismakingsgesprek: naam, e-mailadres en wat je vooraf en tijdens het gesprek met me deelt over je werk en je situatie.

Bij een coachingtraject: naam, e-mailadres, telefoonnummer, adresgegevens, bedrijfsnaam en KvK-nummer als je die hebt, factuur- en betaalgegevens, jouw ingevulde Groeiscan, mijn aantekeningen uit de sessies en het werk dat je me laat zien.

Bij een illustratieopdracht of schoolbezoek: naam, contactgegevens, factuurgegevens en de gegevens van de organisatie waarvoor je werkt.

3. Waarom verwerk ik ze en op welke grondslag?

Je toestemming kun je altijd intrekken. Voor de nieuwsbrief en de Groeiscan-serie doe je dat met de afmeldlink onderaan elke e-mail. Intrekken verandert niets aan wat er vóór dat moment rechtmatig is verwerkt.

Ik maak geen gebruik van geautomatiseerde besluitvorming of profilering.

4. Gegevens binnen een coachingtraject

Coaching is persoonlijk. Wat je met me deelt over je werk, je twijfels en je plannen, blijft tussen ons. Dat staat ook in artikel 15 van mijn algemene voorwaarden.

Concreet betekent dat het volgende.

Ik maak aantekeningen tijdens en na een sessie, zodat ik onze volgende sessie kan voorbereiden en je voortgang kan volgen. Die aantekeningen bewaar ik in mijn eigen beveiligde omgeving en deel ik met niemand.

Werk dat je me laat zien voor feedback, gebruik ik alleen voor onze coaching. Ik laat het niet aan anderen zien en ik plaats het niet online, tenzij je me daar per e-mail of bericht uitdrukkelijk toestemming voor geeft.

Als ik een ervaring van jou wil delen op mijn website of Instagram, vraag ik je dat eerst. Je bepaalt zelf of ik je naam erbij zet of het anoniem houd. Je kunt die toestemming later weer intrekken.

Soms schrijf ik over patronen die ik zie bij illustratoren die ik coach. Dat doe ik altijd zo dat niemand herleidbaar is naar een persoon.

5. Contactformulier en boekingen

Wat je invult in mijn contactformulier wordt opgeslagen. Plan je een afspraak via mijn boekingspagina, dan komen je naam, e-mailadres en de afspraakgegevens in mijn Google Calendar te staan. Ik gebruik deze gegevens alleen om contact met je op te nemen en om de afspraak in te plannen. Ik gebruik ze niet voor marketing zonder jouw toestemming.

6. Cookies en statistieken

Mijn website gebruikt:

• Functionele cookies. Nodig om de site technisch te laten werken.
• Analytische cookies via Google Analytics. Voor anonieme bezoekcijfers.

Je beheert je voorkeuren via de cookiebanner of je browserinstellingen. Meer staat in mijn cookiebeleid op www.maruga.nl/cookie-policy.

Voor Google Analytics geldt: ik heb de voorwaarden voor gegevensverwerking van Google geaccepteerd, ik heb het delen van gegevens met andere Google-producten uitgezet, Google Analytics 4 slaat geen volledige IP-adressen op, en analytics-gegevens worden na maximaal 14 maanden automatisch verwijderd.

7. Wie verwerkt er nog meer gegevens?

Ik werk met een aantal partijen die gegevens voor mij verwerken. Waar zij als verwerker optreden, zoals Digiboox voor mijn boekhouding, heb ik een verwerkersovereenkomst met ze. Mollie en Knab zijn als betaaldienst en bank zelf verantwoordelijk voor de gegevens die zij verwerken; daarvoor geldt hun eigen privacyverklaring.

Sommige van deze partijen verwerken gegevens buiten de Europese Economische Ruimte, zoals in de Verenigde Staten. Dat gebeurt alleen met passende waarborgen: een certificering onder het EU-VS Data Privacy Framework of de standaardcontractbepalingen van de Europese Commissie.

Loopt een illustratieopdracht via mijn agent Advocate Art, dan wisselen mijn agent en ik de contactgegevens uit die nodig zijn om de opdracht uit te voeren.

Verder deel ik je gegevens alleen als dat nodig is om onze afspraak uit te voeren, of als de wet me daartoe verplicht. Ik verkoop je gegevens nooit.

8. Ingesloten inhoud van andere websites

Op sommige pagina's staat inhoud van andere sites, zoals video's of afbeeldingen. Die sites kunnen zelf gegevens over je verzamelen en cookies plaatsen, alsof je hun website had bezocht. Lees hun eigen privacyverklaring als je wilt weten wat ze doen.

9. Hoe lang bewaar ik je gegevens?

• Administratie en facturen: 7 jaar, dat is een wettelijke verplichting.
• Coachingaantekeningen en ingevulde Groeiscans: tot 2 jaar na afronding van het traject, tenzij je me eerder vraagt ze te verwijderen.
• Werk dat je me stuurde voor feedback: tot 1 jaar na afronding van het traject.
• Contactgegevens zonder vervolg: tot 1 jaar na het laatste contact.
• Nieuwsbrief en Groeiscan-serie: totdat je je afmeldt.

10. Beveiliging

Ik neem passende maatregelen om je gegevens te beschermen tegen verlies, misbruik of onbevoegde toegang. Mijn website werkt met een beveiligd SSL-certificaat, te herkennen aan de https in de adresbalk.

11. Jouw rechten

Onder de AVG heb je het recht om:

• je gegevens in te zien
• onjuiste gegevens te laten corrigeren
• je gegevens te laten verwijderen
• de verwerking te beperken of er bezwaar tegen te maken
• je gegevens in een overdraagbaar bestand te ontvangen
• je toestemming in te trekken

Mail naar info@maruga.nl als je hier gebruik van wilt maken. Ik reageer binnen vier weken. Soms stel ik een controlevraag om zeker te weten dat jij het bent.

Ben je het niet eens met hoe ik met je gegevens omga, dan kun je een klacht indienen bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens via autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Gaat je klacht over de uitvoering van de coaching zelf, dan geldt artikel 16 van mijn algemene voorwaarden. Mail me, dan reageer ik binnen 14 dagen.

12. Wijzigingen

Ik pas deze verklaring aan als mijn dienstverlening verandert of als de wet daarom vraagt. De actuele versie staat altijd op www.maruga.nl.

I'm Maruga Koops-Schaaper. I work as an illustrator and illustration coach based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, under the name Maruga.nl.

This statement covers everything I do: my website, my newsletters, my illustration commissions, school visits and my illustration coaching. For coaching, my terms and conditions also apply, available at www.maruga.nl/algemene-voorwaarden-maruganl (Dutch only).

1. When do I process your data?

I only process data you give me yourself, or data I need to do my work. This happens in the following situations:

• you visit my website
• you fill in the contact form or email me
• you download the Growth Scan
• you sign up for my newsletter
• you book an introductory call
• you purchase a coaching package or take part in a workshop
• you commission illustration work from me or book a school visit

2. What data do I process?

When you visit my website: IP address and general visit statistics (see section 6).

For contact, the Growth Scan or the newsletter: first and last name, email address, and whatever you write in your message.

For an introductory call: name, email address, and whatever you share with me beforehand and during the call about your work and situation.

For a coaching package: name, email address, phone number, address details, company name and Chamber of Commerce number if applicable, invoice and payment details, your completed Growth Scan, my session notes, and the work you show me.

For an illustration commission or school visit: name, contact details, invoice details, and the details of the organisation you work for.

3. Why do I process it, and on what legal basis?

You can withdraw your consent at any time. For the newsletter and the Growth Scan series, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place lawfully before that point.

I do not use automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Data within a coaching package

Coaching is personal. What you share with me about your work, your doubts and your plans stays between us. This is also set out in article 15 of my terms and conditions.

In practice, this means the following.

I take notes during and after a session, so I can prepare for our next session and follow your progress. I keep these notes in my own secured environment and share them with no one.

Work you show me for feedback is used only for our coaching. I don't show it to others and I don't post it online, unless you give me explicit permission to do so by email or message.

If I want to share your experience on my website or Instagram, I ask you first. You decide whether I use your name or keep it anonymous. You can withdraw that permission later.

I sometimes write about patterns I see among the illustrators I coach. I always do this in a way that no individual can be identified.

5. Contact form and bookings

Whatever you enter in my contact form is stored. If you book a call through my booking page, your name, email address and appointment details are stored in my Google Calendar. I use this data only to contact you and to schedule the appointment. I don't use it for marketing without your consent.

6. Cookies and statistics

My website uses:

• Functional cookies. Necessary for the website to work technically.
• Analytics cookies via Google Analytics. For anonymous visitor statistics.

You manage your preferences through the cookie banner or your browser settings. More details are in my cookie policy at www.maruga.nl/cookie-policy.

For Google Analytics: I have accepted Google's data processing terms, I have turned off data sharing with other Google products, Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses, and analytics data is automatically deleted after a maximum of 14 months.

7. Who else processes data?

I work with a number of parties who process data on my behalf. Where they act as a processor, such as Digiboox for my bookkeeping, I have a data processing agreement with them. Mollie and Knab, as a payment provider and a bank, are independently responsible for the data they process; their own privacy policies apply.

Some of these parties process data outside the European Economic Area, such as in the United States. This only happens with appropriate safeguards in place: certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

If an illustration commission runs through my agent, Advocate Art, my agent and I exchange the contact details needed to carry out the commission.

Beyond this, I only share your data where necessary to carry out our agreement, or where the law requires it. I never sell your data.

8. Embedded content from other websites

Some pages may include content from other sites, such as videos or images. Those sites may collect data about you and place cookies, just as if you had visited their website directly. Check their own privacy policy to see what they do.

9. How long do I keep your data?

• Bookkeeping and invoices: 7 years, as required by tax law.
• Coaching notes and completed Growth Scans: up to 2 years after the coaching package ends, unless you ask me to delete them sooner.
• Work you sent me for feedback: up to 1 year after the coaching package ends.
• Contact details with no follow-up: up to 1 year after last contact.
• Newsletter and Growth Scan series: until you unsubscribe.

10. Security

I take appropriate measures to protect your data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access. My website uses a secure SSL certificate, visible as "https" in the address bar.

If you believe your data isn't properly secured, or you suspect misuse, please email me at info@maruga.nl.

11. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• access your data
• correct inaccurate data
• have your data deleted
• restrict or object to processing
• receive your data in a portable format
• withdraw your consent

Email info@maruga.nl to exercise any of these rights. I respond within four weeks. I may ask a verification question to confirm your identity.

If you disagree with how I handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

If your complaint concerns the coaching itself, article 16 of my terms and conditions applies. Email me and I'll respond within 14 days.

12. Changes

I update this statement when my services change or the law requires it. The current version is always available at www.maruga.nl.

This statement is available in Dutch and English. In case of any discrepancy between the two versions, the Dutch version prevails.
